🚀 How to convert PNG to JPG
- 📥
Drop your PNG into the box. Files up to 20 MB convert in about a second. Multi-megapixel screenshots take a few seconds.
- ✨
Click "Convert to JPG". We re-encode the image as JPEG at high quality (~85), flattening any transparency to white.
- 📦
Download the result. JPG is typically 3–10× smaller than the source PNG for photographic content — handy for email or web upload.
💡 About PNG and JPG
PNG is a lossless image format with full alpha-channel transparency. Great for screenshots, logos and UI assets — but big for photos, because every pixel is encoded exactly.
JPG is lossy and ~5–10× smaller for the same photo, at the cost of fine detail. If your PNG is a photograph (not a logo or screenshot with text), JPG is almost always the right export format.
Heads-up: JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent pixels become white. If you need to keep transparency, use WebP instead.
❓ Frequently asked questions
- Will my image quality drop?
- A little — JPG is lossy by design. We use quality 85 by default, which is indistinguishable from the source at normal viewing distance for photographic content.
- What happens to transparency?
- JPG cannot store transparency. Any transparent pixels in the source PNG are flattened to white in the output.
- How small will the file get?
- For typical photo PNGs, JPG output is 70–90% smaller. For PNGs with large flat colour areas (logos, UI screenshots), the savings are modest.
- Are my files private?
- Yes. Files are processed on our servers and deleted within 1 hour. We do not share them with anyone.
